Black History Month display

During the month of February, a display on the Library’s second floor (just outside the Reading Room) will tell the rich history of “Black Student Organizations at Drake University.”   Curated by Archives Assistant, senior, Kori Ponder, the exhibit shares her research about student groups, publications, and the Black Cultural Center.  Photograph reproductions are included, like that of Drake’s first African-American student, Simon Scott (class of 1887).

Veterans Exhibit

Veteran's Day ExhibitThe Drake University Archives honors veterans in a special display of photographs, memorabilia, and articles to commemorate Veteran’s Day, November 11th.   From Drake’s President Martin, to former alumni and faculty, the exhibit shares how members of the Drake family have served our country.  The display is located on the second floor of Cowles Library, just outside the Archives and can be viewed during regular Library hours, now through the end of fall semester.

P Morrison_edited-1During this academic year, the University Archives is honoring Drake sports historian and alumnus (’39), Paul Morrison in a special main floor display.  The exhibit can be viewed anytime Cowles Library is open, and is full of articles, quotes, and memorabilia.   Come learn more about Drake’s treasured 99-year-old, “No.1 fan”!
